THE period of public consultation on the review of Irish copyright law has been extended by nearly two months.

The move came after a large number of requests were submitted to the review committee with a new deadline set at May 31.

Following an EU directive, the Government signed up to allow copyright holders to apply to the High Court for an injunction if they believed their rights had been breached.

A public meeting on the Copyright Review Committee’s Consultation Paper will be held on Saturday from 10am until midday, in the Robert Emmet Lecture Theatre, Room 2037 Arts Block, Trinity College Dublin.
