No-one has ever admitted killing 13-year-old Martha Campbell

The family of a teenage girl who was shot dead in 1972, have held a vigil to mark the 40th anniversary of her death.

Martha Campbell, who was 13, was shot on her way home from Mass at Corpus Christi Church in west Belfast.

No group ever admitted her killing. Martha’s brother Tony said the family’s search for justice would continue.

“The family felt for a long time that Martha was maybe one of the forgotten victims of the Troubles,” he said.

“There was very little publicity about Martha because so many other things were hitting the news.

“We’ve been pushing this for a long time with the help of Relatives of Justice as well to try and move it forward find out if there is anything more that can bring us closure.”
